The Wine-Queen Bakery*

*some people would call it coronation site of the Wine-Queen...

In the afternoon I had a business meeting in Neustadt an der Weinstraße and had the chance to blip the Saalbau, a neo-renaissance style congress center, built in the years 1871 - 1873.
It was severely damaged in a fire 1980 and re-opend 1984 by our former Chancellor Helmut Kohl and our former Palatinian Minister-President Bernhard Vogel.

Almost every year (very few exceptions) the countrywide broadcasted elections of the German Wine-Queen and the Wine-Princesses take place here.
Many German cities "Neustadt", but only one "an der Weinstraße" = "on the Palatinate Wine Route."
