Great Balls of Steel
No...not mine...the balls in the photo!
Got out in some daylight today for a walk down at Cockenzie and Port Seton power station where these 'balls' are a feature. They are actually an old set of 'grinding balls' that were used to grind up coal into a fine powder prior to being burnt in the power station boilers. This particular set would have ground up to 500,000 tons of coal in their lifetime.
Sometimes life can feel like you are caught in a set of grinding balls!
