"the simple things you do for me"

About a month ago I sent a carrier pigeon on a mission - to make sure that a very dear friend got their Christmas present before the big day! The pigeon postal service made the delivery on time, ahead of schedule in fact, however it never flew back to me again....until tonight! And for good reason....

It arrived safely back in Dundee with these lovely surprises! If ever there were 2 things that both best describes me as a person and relates to our 2013 adventures together, it doesn't get much better than this! I thought the box of Krispy Kreme donuts would be difficult to beat but I was wrong! I'm a major choc-a-holic so the massive box of chocolates is perfect, although I may need some help to finish them off!

And as for the 'Battenberg' cake, well lets not talk about the last encounter with my marzipan covered nightmare just before Christmas, (oh the disappointment) haha! He said I'd like this 'Battenberg' cake....but somehow I wasn't convinced!

However as I have learnt, I should never doubt him! The colour and design of the cake with the 2 pink squares suggested that my food nightmare had returned, but when I cut into the cake there wasn't any marzipan or almonds in sight! Instead, it was chocolate filled!! I could not have been more surprised!! I've been told that it's homemade by himself....and it tastes really good!! :)

So there not only seems to be a good baking gene hidden away in their personality, but also a very kind hearted and thoughtful one too. It's great to have you back - I've missed you!
