Dad

Dad died today at a little before 6.00pm.

I made it down an hour or so after he'd died. He turned so quickly it took the care home staff by surprise I think.

Thankfully, we had all but said our goodbyes on our visit this Sunday. We left that day thinking he didn't have a full week left in him and sadly we were right.

He looked uncomfortable on Sunday. Propped up in his bed. Wincing with some pain occasionally.

He looked blissful today.

I think I mean that literally. He was lying down comfortably, hands gently crossed on his chest with a near smile on his face.

I found him hard to leave.....
