High Five

I took a walk over to see the Buskers Festival in North Hagley Park this afternoon. It wasn't very crowded and was interesting to see. We live nearby and you can hear them at times.

For the past 21 years, the SCIRT WORLD BUSKERS FESTIVAL has aimed to stretch its wings to present the people of Christchurch with the best buskers festival in the world.

Fifty-five amazing street performers, comedians, fringe artists, musicians and visual artists are destined to leave you mesmerised and in awe. Whether you’re a fan of highly skilled acrobatics, hoola-hoopers, trapeze artists, musicians, dancers, circus and vaudeville skits, burlesque or you’re simply out for a good belly laugh – the 2014 SCIRT WORLD BUSKERS FESTIVAL has it all!

The WBF provides Christchurch audiences with 10 days and 11 nights of organised pandemonium, non-stop chaos and uncontrollable laughter – transforming BUSKER PARK – North Hagley Park and surrounding venues into a hub of fun, frantic and fantastic activity, entertainment and excitement.

With over 660 circus, street and comedy shows, performed by more than 55 local, national and international artists, the World Buskers Festival will present audiences with over 650 hours of world-class entertainment, in a series of free-to-attend events.
