I thought that this scratching box would last a good long time. No such luck.

Today, while attempting to dig his way to China, Oliver Wendell Cat managed to collapse his favorite toy, spreading paper shreds all over the floor.

Moral of the story: Stick to the cheap scratching boxes.

They double as beds.
