A Woman Without Secrets

Saw a different kind of artwork today.

Visited the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art (Modern One) this afternoon and saw an excellent exhibition of work by French-American artist Louise Bourgeois (1911-2010).
"A Woman Without Secrets".

You may have heard her referred to as the "giant spider woman". In 1999 she was commissioned to produce a sculpture for the opening of the Tate Modern in London in 2000. The result is a colossal steel, bronze and marble spider "Maman" (1999), measuring; 9271mm x 8915mm x 10,236mm or over 30 foot high and 33 feet wide!
There is a much smaller one on display in this exhibition, which might just fit into an averaged sized sitting room...

Well worth a visit.
