The Cross Guesser

These two lovely girls come in every now and then for a little pampering.
On the left is the after groom look and on the right the before.
Big question is though: what exactly are they???
Hint I - they are a straight cross, so no mix and mingles
Hint II - one of the parents is a not so common breed
