Black / White
Working at home;
I always railed against home working cos I commuted by bike - have / had done for 12 years more or less; and my fitness, sense of well being, ability to climb large steep Scottish hills, be fit enough to keep up with my boys, explore easily, keep transports costs down blah blah blah.
I said if I worked from home I would need to order a morning paper from a shop in Portobello so I was forced to get out the house, preferably in the morning, and get sweaty and out breath and wake up and feel alive.
Its sort of happened that way, but mostly I go out at lunchtime and set a frivolous goal or a stupid goal. Like go and ride a Strava segment and try and get a KOM, or get to a certain supermarket and sift through the reduced to clear section and having to have your dinner include something you got cheaply.
Today I wanted coffee and my fave coffee at the moment is a flat white at Quartermile that also doubles as a book shop; which is dangerous cos I may well find something I cannot not buy.
I also love Quartermile; it's got a lot about it; I love the old / new interface of the old infirmary vs shiny new glass reflective ultra slick buildings.
So I cycled what to most people would be rather pointlessly up a steep hill, had a coffee, took some photos and then sped back down said steep hill and came home awake, alert alive.
And with a photo which is close to what I'd ideally take if I lived in a city centre with reflective / shadow / skewed / twisted perspectives..... Must go back and do more shots there.....
