Ready Steady Run!!!

Under starters orders and they're off! Beach Run 2014!

Crocodile walked 450 children, a kilometre down the road from school to the beach, which is situated under the iconic Burj Al Arab....the only 7 star hotel in the world. (We have very exclusive neighbours!)

Setting off in their respective year groups the little power houses ran twice round the 500 metre course mapped out along the beach....deftly avoiding the sunbathing tourists who were already soaking up the weak rays of the sun. It was all of 8:30am!

There were prizes to be had for first second and third places in each Grade for both boys and girls. All other runners who made it to the finishing line were duly awarded points for their home team, which, when added up, culminated in the presentation of a trophy for the winning team.....so at starters orders, there was everything to run for!

There were a lot of sweaty, tired little torsos that eventually wended their way back to school when they were all "runned out!"

A well deserved long break before lessons commenced and the trainers were put away until next year!! (or maybe this was just a warm up for the Standard Chartered Marathon that is taking place on Friday! 40km, 10km and a 3km family run.

Not sure how many takers there will be but Albert, bless him, definitely wants to be there!! He's a natural antelope!
