Busy day

We went to Arundel Wetlands and Wildfowl Centre this morning. We usually try and go most Wednesday mornings. but because we'd been sick we haven't been since before Christmas. We were surprised to find half the centre is closed off because of flooding. We had no idea it was so bad. They've even had to evacuate many geese off to Slimbridge as there is not enough ground free of water for them. We had a good time sitting in a couple of hides, mainly watching a cormorant group, but also seeing gadwalls. They've opened up the Kingfisher room for people to sit and hopefully see the kingfishers perching nearby. We sat for about 20 mins but unluckily didn't see one.

I've joined in a mass painting group with Julie Dumbarton ( https://www.facebook.com/juliedumbartonartist). Unbelievably from an ad hoc start a week or so ago there are now 2000 of us all painting the same painting along with Julie! So I got onto step 4 today in her series of photo instructions. We have no idea what we are painting just following along. It really is quite exciting.

Ivy-Rose (8) came to paint after school today as usual. We're working on a painting of Venice that she did last year and now someone has commissioned her to do them one. It's going very slowly because she is so tired after school at the moment. We're thinking about maybe changing to a weekend.
