Today's Blip is a tribute to work.

There were a number of things that happened today that made me feel good and reflect on my job - I was given praise for 2 separate projects I'm involved in, I finished a chore that I wasn't keen on and I spent some quality time with some of my team.

The day ended with a get together for a colleague who was retiring after 38 years working as a nurse at the hospital. Chatting to her, I was sharing my envy at her retirement and she said something that made me stop and think - "don't wish the years away, it will come soon enough and these are the years that you are living now".
I am so lucky to be doing a job that is so rewarding, privileged, and varied - and with so many like minded devoted, passionate friends and colleagues.

Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.
