Coming Home
I made it home today. Here I am wrapped up all nice and cosy in my crib.
Mum found it hard to sleep in the hospital last night, despite her lack of sleep over the last couple of days. It was very hot in the ward, and there were three other mothers with new babies with us.
Dad arrived at the start of visiting hours at two o'clock followed by Gran, Papa and Auntie Catherine at three.
Mum thought we would be kept in hospital another night as a precaution, but after the midwife did her checks she said we were both fine and we could go. Mum was very happy as she really wanted to get home, and Dad was very happy as he didn't need to spend another night at home alone.
On the way home we stopped at Sainsbury's to buy me some clothes. Mum and Dad had only bought a few things for me because they didn't know whether I would be a boy or a girl.
Lots of people had told Mum and Dad that coming home with a new baby for the first time was very scary. But we were just so glad to be home and so tired that we all went straight to bed.
