wrapped up in abundant layers we went outside to explore the snowy landscape. Frostbite warnings on the radio advised limited exposure. Not that we needed to be told that once we stepped out, the icy air stinging noses and chins. Em, Grandad and me trudged around the block in the morning. Our afternoon walk took us to the top marina. The freezing wind had whipped the water around the docks into a floating mosaic of ice. We returned to the shelter and sunlight of the front garden and made snow castles.
