PIECES OF EIGHT

"Eight" is the topic of the day, and so not only are these "Pieces of Eight", there are also eight of them (just to be safe.) Believe me when I tell you, it is harder than you might think to find gold pieces from the 1700's, and even harder to find a pirate galleon that will let you come aboard to take some photographs (especially when you just happen to be carrying eight pieces of gold - and a Canon 5DIII!!)

But I lucked out...I snuck aboard in the middle of the night, during a terrible storm, while all the blood-thirsty pirates were below deck - and took my shot. :-) It is absolutely amazing what a guy will do to get the shot he wants for his pic of the day...isn't it??
