You Shall Not Pass

Today's title is of course a reference to Gandalf's battle with the Balrog in The Lord of the Rings. "Gandalf"'s staff here is a very cool bit of driftwood that we found this afternoon at the beach, which led to an enactment of the hobbit - at least as far as we have read so far: the return to the beach house was the trip to Beorn's house.

Before the beach we all went to the Mahurangi River Winery and Restaurant for lunch, which was rather on the excellent side. After lunch I took a few photos of the grapevines - which please me, as I've not taken a similar photo before.
