Burj Dubai

Started the day early again (see yesterdays blip).
Up as 7:30. Managed around 3.5 hour sleep (around £65/hour!).

My colleague was pretty angry. The rooms had all fancy automation on the lighting, clocks, TV etc. All night, his door bell and lights kept flashing on and off. Only got about an hour's sleep!

Got over to Etihad's offices...and had a good session. They didn't fall asleep at our presentation.

Etihad are a major sponsor of Ferrari and had one of last years cars in the lobby. Took some pics of that, but they didn't make the cut.

Etihad was pissed that the championship was decided last week...as the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is on in a week or two.

Got the taxi back up to Dubai in the afternoon. Saw the Torro Rosso cars being taken to the track.

Blipped the Burj Dubai on the way into Dubai. Very impressive statistics here.

Got back to another hotel in Dubai. They were much more organised!

Kicked off business planning for next year. We need to get this together for an exec team away trip in just over a weeks time. Our figures showed a growth of around 30%. Not bad in a recession!

Called the office to check in. Wound them up that Etihad had taken us out for the afternoon to the Ferrari motorhome as they were setting up, and had taken us out in one of the F1 2 seaters....they bought it! Must be good at this wind up thing.

In the evening...didn't know what to do. So just grabbed a cab and asked him to drive us around for a bit of sightseeing. Managed about 90mins before we were falling asleep. Told the cab driver just to take us back. We were both asleep in the cab by the time he got back to the airport.

Quick TexMex and off to bed as it was an early flight in the morning.
