Desolate
Went to see 'The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug' today... left wondering why they were calling it 'The Hobbit' when, given it is the tiniest book ever, PJ & Co deemed it necessary to take bits out and replace with some barrel-chasing, that's-not-an-arrow-it's-a-spear, that's-not-a-necromancer-it's-a-Sauron, were-bear-not-care-bear, giant golden dwarf drivel.
On the bright side Cumberbatch was an effective Smaug, Evangeline Lilly was actually quite good in her made up role and Luke Evans was bearable if oddly Welsh as Bard. And the music was good. And New Zealand still looks very pretty.
I'm sure it was meant to be based on a book I like...
