Mark this

This is my least favourite activity - marking. People often say to me that when I retire I will be able to earn lots of money doing exam marking. Oh no I won't! When I retire, I will never ever ever do any marking of any sort ever again.

The other thing people like to encourage me with is that I will be able to do some supply teaching. Oh no I won't! When I retire, I will never ever ever do any supply teaching ever. I might go and teach an A level class once a week, but that is all.

I think 37 or 38 years of my life devoted to one school in the Black Country is enough. The kids are real little rough diamonds and the staff are fantastic, but enough will be enough.

Do you like my red fountain pen? I have a bright yellow one that writes in purple ink (Love it) , a matt black one that writes in green ink (love that one too) and a bright blue one that writes in blue ink surprisingly (This one is no less loved).
