Frozen and Sweet
I love things that are frozen and sweet. I think I get it from my mom. I mean, we were the family that took professional photographs with popsicles one year. That has potential to show up in those "Awkward Family Photos" books…. but I digress.
I love things that are frozen and sweet. And I do get it from my mom.
Paula and I went to the market today and as we got closer I heard this really high pitched jingle. I wrote it off as someone's (annoying) cellphone that they were blasting, but it didn't stop.
Then I saw him. People were flocking to him. Mr. Bodda Driver had a tiny speaker with an ice-cream-man jingle playing, and on the back of his bodda was an orange cooler filled with what looked to be SHERBET!! I had a mild freak out moment and then quickly agreed with Paula that we had to go and get some. Unfortunately it was made with powdered milk (bummer!) but I splurged one whole South Sudanese pound (that equals $0.20 right now, people!) and lived vicariously through Paula as she enjoyed hers.
Ice cream in Kajo Keji. WHO would have thought?? A sweet treat for real. No pun intended. …ok, maybe a little intended.
