Ah, the bus. I had never set foot on a public bus until I moved to Champaign. New Orleans buses always seemed dirty - and dangerous. I'd been on the streetcar numerous times, of course, but never the new, air conditioned ones that ran on Canal Street. Not that I'll be able to for a long time - evidently they were damaged pretty badly in The Storm. Last I heard, the old St Charles streetcars were running down the Canal St route and will continue to do so for the next year or two.

I miss New Orleans.
