Don't jump … !

One man on the parapet of Putney bridge. The result: 4 police cars, 2 police vans, 2 ambulances, RNLI lifeboat, Police launch and all the traffic on the bridge completely gridlocked. I am surprised that the poor chap didn't feel duty bound to put on a good show.

The tide was quite high, so if he had jumped he would likely have just got very cold and wet as long as he pushed clear of the pier. The RNLI were looking very relaxed but the River Police came storming up at max throttle just in case they were urgently required too.

Eventually he relented and was led off by the paramedic crew under a blanket.
