In the Middle of Nowhere.
The guys went into town this morning to discuss hifi related things. I opted for a trip to the botanic gardens instead. The weather was lousy, it was grey and overcast but the colours were stunning and the wind whipped the leaves up in a frenzy. Then it started raining - and boy did it rain! By the time they picked me up I was soaked.
Headed out of town for lunch and caught this picture. The Scottish Antique Centre is only ten minutes from the west end, but it feels as though you are in the middle of nowhere. The clouds were sitting low over the hills highlighting the distance between the trees.
By the time we made a move for home the roads were running with the red water that had come off the fields and the tarmac was covered in yellow leaves. Very pretty, but also lethal. Every year somebody gets caught out driving on them. The road into the village has lots of tight bends and too many people take it at ridiculous speeds. Not the first time I've seen cars down steep inclines or upside down in the middle of fields.
But not today. All in all a good time was had by everybody.
