Black Grouse
Having stayed in this morning to listen to Andy's match against Federer, my plan to drive round a few lek sites in the hope of seeing Black Grouse was really not a terribly good plan. Leks are active around dawn - not early afternoon. Anyhow in the absence of a better plan I headed out. As expected no sign of Black Grouse at any of the sites I visited, but as I drove round a corner I noticed three fat Woodpigeons in a tree by the road, not exactly an unusual site, but then I thought those Woodpigeons were really fat and not quite the right shape, A U turn was required and magic, those three Woodpigeons had turned into three Black Grouse.
