Night Light

Saturday we were supposed to have a dusting of snow, changing to rain. It turned out to be closer to 6 inches of heavy, wet snow. I found myself shoveling the driveway at 9:30 pm during a lull, only to wake up Sunday morning and have to shovel some more. It was a beautifully still night to be shoveling. No howling wind, no traffic, no snow blowers, no plows. Working in the quiet by the light of the bushes still lit for the dark winter months.
