Boiled my first eggs

I had never boiled an egg before today.

I don't like eggs. The smell of cooked eggs makes me retch, so I can't even be in the kitchen when someone else is cooking eggs. So I never cook eggs. I do appreciate, however, that they are good things for my kids to eat,so I try to manoeuvre things so that my Mum or husband cook them whenever needed.

Tonight my daughter asked for soft-boiled egg for tea, and my husband declared himself "too busy" to cook. So, given that I currently have a cold and my sense of smell is not what I should be, I thought I would have a go at cooking my first eggs. I looked up the cooking time in The Dairy Book Of Home Cookery (my cooking bible), and I just gave it a go.
