Hazel catkins
Allowed myself a walk when the weather was quite nice this afternoon. I think the fresh air was good for me...and I couldn't infect anyone, other than the sheep. I was surprised to see so many hazel bushes with fully developed male catkins. Here they are, all ready to release clouds of pollen, and not one female flower to be seen yet. How nature gets caught out by this unseasonal weather! Mind you, on my way back home it changed from spring back to winter in about 10 minutes and once indoors there was thunder, lightening and a hail storm.
