Embroidery

Lived in Suffolk for almost 25 years (!) and today was the first time we ventured into Ipswich Museum. I was expecting it to be quite pokey with not many exhibits but it was surprisingly interesting.

A number of display cases held some beautiful embroidered silk gowns from china, India and South America, I just loved the colours and craftsmanship - awesome. There were also some beautiful panels comprising a number of smaller embroidered pictures created by the wife's of Japanese prisoners of war, they were very different from those in my blip but each will have had an interesting story behind them.
