Thunderbolts and Lightening

Lots of FaceBook chat this afternoon about the thunder, lightening and hail experienced around the West Mudlands.

Had jobs to do this pm, so as soon as the weather abated a bit we were out on our travels. Tried to drop off a suit at the drycleaners in Blokko. Couldn't get in the shop - then noticed the ""back in 5 mins sign". Not good when it is persisting down with rain (turning to occasional sleet). After about 5 mins I noticed that there was a bloke in the back of the shop. Banged on the window a few times to get his attention. When he finally got fed up with ignoring me he came to the front of the shop, stabbed his finger at the 5 minutes sign, told me "she's just popped to the shop" and declined my request to be able to wait inside. Waited some more (in the cold and wet) and came to the conclusion that this "back in 5" might not happen any time soon. Why the shop proprietor couldn't have just sent her shop-minding monkey to get whatever it was that she was out of is beyond me.....

Anyhow, this pic is the view from our landing across the roof - showing just how much of the white stuff accumulated in a very quick (heavy) hailstorm.
