A Grand Day Out

I have had such a great day today. My friend and I took the train into London to celebrate her birthday (it was only in September!) We went to Tiffanys and Liberty amongst others, and then on to Pollen Street Social for lunch. And what a lunch it was! Fabulous food, we sat there for hours.
When we got back to Waterloo all was in chaos. Trains cancelled all over, due to fallen trees on the lines. We couldn't get to Fleet or Farnham, but the train to Guidford was still running. We jumped on, only to be turfed off at Epsom, as there was another tree down at Ashstead! Pleading calls to husbands ensued, and after a leisurely g&t in the pub our knight in shining Volvo arrived to drive us home.

It was the perfect girls' day out, and one that we intend to repeat soon (although hopefully without the train drama).
