Catfish

This was taken at an Asian food market (called "New Market") here in Arlington. I wish this picture carried over just a little further to the right, so that fish's mouth wasn't cut off. Ah well.

Got to spend most of the day with my very best friends, Jamie and Daniel, along with Jamie's boyfriend Nate and Daniel's fiance (!) Nick. We went to Twisted Root (where I had a delicious black bean burger), played hide and seek in the UTA library, and yes, got to see a bunch of sad catfish. A great day (not because of the catfish -- that was sad).

My vegetarian diet has had its ups and downs -- I haven't been totally vegetarian, especially the last week or so -- but it's definitely changed the way I look at meat. Something about it doesn't sit right with me, and the idea that I'm eating an animal is suddenly a little more difficult to put out of my mind. While I'm still living at home it would be hard to sustain any level of vegetarianism, but every day I feel more confident that this is totally a life choice I could (and most likely will) make down the line. At the very least, I know that I'll be eating a lot less meat from now on -- whenever I can avoid it, I think I will (all this, and I still have a little less than a week to go on the "official" diet).
