Child's Play
Neither of us are children, but my daughter M and I had fun making these shadows late this afternoon in Fairhaven!
It can be iffy to plan a weekend visit in January, but today was beautiful, once the early morning fog wore off. I picked M up from the Bolt Bus arrival at 8:15am and we did a little shopping, then dropped off the goods and her bag at our house, added Phil to the mix, and enjoyed a delicious brunch at Mount Bakery (see his blip here). We made a quick stop at Chocolate Necessities afterward for M to buy more of their outstanding cocoa powder, and then went home for an afternoon rest.
Later, M and I went to Fairhaven, where she found several appealing clothing items at a consignment store, and we chatted with a friend of hers who now works at Fairhaven Toy Garden. In the last light of a lovely sunset, we returned home again, where M led the cooking of a wonderful vegetarian supper -- sweet potatoes (yams) roasted in maple syrup, bourbon, and olive oil; spiced chickpeas (garbanzos) with fresh spinach; sautéed sweet (bell) red peppers with leeks; whole wheat couscous; local yogurt; a Breadfarm baguette; and locally-made chocolate bourbon pecan pie (very small pieces).
We've had a delightful day!
