Playing hookie....

i've just completed my first intensive meditation retreat....wow, i'm really tired!!!

We spent the last 2 days in a lovely little community centre, in Margaree Harbour, over near the west coast of the island....really beautiful area. There is a large Buddhist community over there and we had a 2 day intensive retreat which was really pretty awesome....but my poor mind couldn't take any more meditation, so another participant, Anne, and i played hookie for about an hour and walked down to the ocean....i mean, who could blame us, it was such a beautiful day...the sun came out, and the water was just perfect!

Meeting new folks on the island, spending time meditating and trying to figure out all that kind of stuff....like how does our mind control us etc....is really hard work!!! mostly i had a wonderful time, but by the middle of the second afternoon, my body was screaming out for some other kind of sensory experience...so off to the ocean!!! that was totally fabulous!

Great folks, wonderful food and some expanding experiences made for a pretty amazing weekend!

Came home, both nights, to a wonderful meal courtesy of the 3 adorable young folks staying with us at the moment....boy sometimes life is just simply too amazing!

off to bed with my book!
