It Was A Lovely Violet
Title inspired by Mozart's Das Veilchen, in which he describes the trampling of a violet. Woke to drenching rain. In a very brief sunny interlude, during which I glimpsed some blue sky, I decided to take Basil for a walk. By the time we had got ready, the clouds were spreading over and it had begun to rain again.
Just around the corner, clumps of violets were nestling beneath an evergreen hedge. I still haven't mastered deciding the focusing point on my XE-1 which is why this shot is slightly soft. It didn't help that I had to stoop right down as well and try to judge the placement on the screen when I wasn't wearing my glasses. Don't get old!
