Sydney, Cape Breton Island

Warmer morning with a beautiful blue sky.

We drove out to the Fortress at Louisbourg, visiting the lighthouse on the way. The fortress is Canada’s largest historical reconstruction, where to step back in time to the 18th Century. We were given 2 hours to look round, which sounded long when we were first told, but this place warrants much more time. It is fascinating!!

Time management wasn’t helped when I found this Heron in a wet reedy area within the walls of the fortress.

More pictures here, need to fick backwards

Storm weather warning for Thursday evening into Friday, there will be changes to the plans for port calls.

Weather at Noon – 7degrees C/ 44 F
