Introducing Marvie

Seven hens, 2 dugs and one fish. Safe to say I'm done as far as pets are concerned. Marvie is the latest addition to our menagerie. His name is short for Marvel (Stan Lee and Thor were the other possibilities, I think we got off light).
It's been a pretty miserable weekend. PoorPhilipandCharles (that's their business name) spent the best part of today outside in what can only be described as mauchy, pishy and weet weather attempting to make sense of the riddle, "when is a soakaway not a soakaway?" They say they have a plan. It involves a bigger digger...watch this space.
The kids and I went into town with our bezzies (respectively). A trip to a big toy shop to spend some Xmas/birthday pennies and a longer than entirely necessary trip to the supermarket after. Ash and I consoled ourselves with a chicken salad whilst the kids tucked into sandwiches (carbs = bad), butter (fat = double bad) and cheese (hard fat = triple bad). We pretended like we weren't bothered but we would have *devoured* those bad boys given half a chance. Still, this healthy eating lark isn't forever, is it??
