Tough Guys & Girls

Today was wet, cold and windy, just the kind of weather The Tough Guy Challenge held in Perton near Wolverhampton needs. Almost every year I go and spectate at this ridiculous event and wonder in amazement at what is before me.

7,000 men and women enter this 15km assault course just for fun, although the sense of achievement must be amazing if you finish. A cruel twist to this event is that only the winner gets a warm shower at the end, the rest must suffer.

Many don't make it to the end suffering with exhaustion, hyperthermia and broken bones. People have died on this event so I'm hoping everyone that entered today are home safe and well.

I highly recommend going to see this madness and there is one held in the summer if you don't fancy the winter elements.
