A day of remembrance
It is hard to believe that it has been a year since I took the call from Dad. The call that had us rushing back to NZ - to help say a final farewell.
We have been through the year of "firsts". We have shed so many tears, told numerous stories and stared at photos lost in memory.
She has never been far from our thoughts. But today especially she has been there.
CJ and I headed out this morning, with one simple mission - to buy a peace-lily in remembrance.
I know CJ doesn't understand why it was special that wore his winnie-the-pooh shirt or why we had to spend so long looking at flowers in pots. But I will explain it to him when he asks or when he plays with his favourite toys that she made sure he had.
Forever in our hearts - we will always remember.
