Facing Her Fear

Lyra is terrified of foxes.

I don't know why. I think it might be because before she could talk, a toddler got their face mauled by a fox whilst they were asleep in their cot. Her comprehension has always been beyond her years, even before she spoke. So perhaps she heard this story and internalised it. Who knows?

Anyway, whatever the reason, they scare the bejesus out of her and at bedtime she makes us call Mr Fox to make sure he and his family plan to stay away overnight.

Today, Lyra made friends with a stuffed fox at the Horniman Museum.

She was VERY scared at first but Ellie supported her and led the way. I was proud of both of them.


Lyra kissed the fox goodbye.
