I took Mum and my friend Caro who is visiting from the US, on a drive this afternoon. We ate fresh berries swirled into ice-cream - decadently yummy and bought Maketu pies at Maketu - Maketu is a small beach community that is famous for its pies. Equally as yummy but to be future yummies - they are in the freezer waiting until we have more room in our bellies.
