good morning, sun. this is from seongsan ichulbong (sunrise peak) on jeju island. hundreds of intrepid souls climb up this volcanic tuff cone (google it) at the break of dawn to witness some of the most breathtaking sunrises in korea. initial disappointment over cloud on the horizon (which prevented us from seeing the sun peek over the "edge" of the sea) quickly gave way to wonder at the spectacle of light and colour unfolding before us.
