Salt of the earth...

With snow falling and the temperatures at -12 I decide that a day underground would be a good idea and headed to the Salt Mine at Wieliczka. Heading deeper underground, along the way there are fascinating sculptures made out of salt. For centuries, salt was picked by hand and carried up to the surface.On the bottom level is a chapel entirely made from salt. Just awesome, sculptures of Christ and the Apostles, tiled mosaic floors and even salt crystal chandeliers all made centuries ago.
