Anemone

I bought a pot of anemones in flower last spring and they gave many months of pleasure before they died down. I tucked the pot away in a corner to let them take their chance and I was delighted in November when the leaves started showing. Now there are two or three in flower and many more to come. So pleasing, unlike the cut anemones I bought in a supermarket last Tuesday to make a table decoration for my dinner party. They were still in bud for the occasion, looking very dull, and are still not really open yet!
We had a bright morning and you could feel the warmth in the sunshine, but, guess what, it's raining again now.
