Either this old telly was placed gently in the Grand Union canal near Notting Hill or it was lucky to escape by casually tossed in without the screen breaking. Shortly after this photo was taken, we watched a man carefully left his dog into the cold water for a few seconds before lifting the poor thing out. Was he baptising it? Was he trying to rid it of fleas? We couldn't tell. We were too busy trying not to fall in while dodging joggers and cyclists.
