Leg Infection

Taking pictures of the chaffinches in the garden and noticed this fellow very reluctant to use the right leg. On checking the pictures afterwards it is possible to see what appears to be a growth on the whole of the right leg – growth very noticeable on the rear foot.

Not sure what it is but it does not seem to bother him except when trying to walk.
