Waiting for Lunch

I'm reliably informed by my husband that these are tree sparrows and they are just a small group of the many who lurk in one of our hedges waiting for the feeders to be topped up. They'd already emptied them at breakfast time, but they know someone will probably fill them again during the day:-)

There were actually a few other visitors today, including two yellowhammers, several chaffinches and greenfinches and various tits, but they don't stay for long. Perhaps they feel intimidated by the sheer numbers of these sparrows?

The Voice has almost returned now and I'm feeling much better, apart from the odd sneeze, so hope to get out to my U3A class tomorrow called Technology for All. There's always something new to be learned from it!
