is it a soup? is it a stew?

Someone I was working with last week told me how her Nan used to make Bacon Bone Soup, so I thought I'd have a go. It was great! 100g yellow split peas, pint of stock, 2 bacon steaks, a carrot and a potato, stuck in the slow cooker while we went to fat club (Slimming World), warming and delicious on our return.
