Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum
Another of Glasgow's landmarks. A wonderfully designed building that looks spectacular both inside and out. It was designed by Sir John W. Simpson and E.J. Milner Allen, and opened in 1901 as the Palace of Fine Arts.
One of my favourite stories - well more of an urban myth - is that the building was accidentally built back-to-front. And that in an act of despair, the architect in charge jumped from one of the towers when he realised the mistake.
A fascinating story, which is quite believable as the Park Bar is only around the corner so there is a high chance the architect at fault was slightly pixelated on the job.
