Anniversary

35 years ago Roo and I were married.

It had snowed, all her relatives were stuck in Devon.

Overnight, the fallen snow had turned to ice.

I breakfasted on 'Full English' and whisky, the idea of the lady I was staying with?

I don't remember the day, a few words from Fred, a red allegro with a black vinyl roof, a cheese bombe and rice salad.

No photographs worth very much.

35 years later, two lovely boys and a lifetime of photographs.

I still love her like the day I met her, all those years ago, when champagne was a thing of dreams.
