Kentucky Horse Park
I left my house at 9:30 this morning.
Plan A was to stop in Jackson Center, Ohio to catch a factory tour of Airstream Trailers being made. The one and only tour started at 2 p.m. How was I to know that I was going to have to drive 35 m.p.h. through a snowstorm? I missed the tour by 20 minutes. Plan A trailer tour...unhitched and ditched.
Plan B was to stop in Middletown, Ohio to see if the Giant Jesus had been replaced. (The last one got struck by lightning, and burned to the ground.) Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! Jesus is back...and...he has a lightning rod on the top of his head.
Plan C was to cross over the bridge from Ohio to Kentucky, and go to the Mother of God Church. As you can see from my shot on FLICKR...the clock reads 4:15 p.m. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE OPEN UNTIL 4:30!! Plan C...the nun might have said..."This church is none of your bidness."
Plan D was to get to Kentucky Horse Park near Lexington just as the sun went down. But...Mother Nature only let me get about 20 shots in before she turned out the lights.
Things didn't go according to plan. 531 miles divided by 12 hours equals about 44 miles in an hour. That's not good, but I'm here in Clinton, Tennessee safe and sound. And tired.
I wanted to get a little further down the road...but I started to see flying monkeys. When you see flying monkeys...it's time to stop.
Flat on the cold hard ground for this shot, and the temperature was still only 16F. Night night.
